High-Protein Jamaican Jerk Chili With Tempeh [Vegan]

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon hot paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 -3/ 4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. Set a large pan over medium-high heat and add the oil and crumbled tempeh. Sauté for a minute or 2, up until gently browned, prior to including the minced habanero. Prepare for a minute longer to launch the volatile oils of the pepper which contain all its intense taste.
  2. Merely incorporate all the staying ingredients, starting with 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, and stir thoroughly to combine. Cover and give a full boil. Lower the heat to medium and simmer for 3– 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and hot all the way through. Include the staying salt to taste, if needed.
