It was made on a relatively small budget of $35  million, and even before it blew past $700 million at the worldwide box office you knew the sequel would be made. Granted just because a film doesn’t necessarily end, and has more of a story to tell, it doesn’t mean that it will be completed. Just look at the Divergent series that still doesn’t have the second half of the last novel made. Regardless, It was destined to see the second part of it’s story told, and now more cast members are being sought.

Jessica Chastain was the first to sign on to the sequel, which will see the adult versions of the character in the first movie reunite to take on the demon clown Pennywise once more. She’s set to play Beverly Marsh, the lone female member of the group. Bill Skarsgard of course will be returning as well to play Pennywise. Now it looks likes James McAvoy and Bill Hader are in negotiations to join them both.

McAvoy would play the role of Bill Denbrough (played originally by Jaeden Lieberher ), who in the first movie was the unofficial leader of the group, while Hader would play Richie Tozier, the jokester, who was played by Finn Wolfhard. The child actors from the first movie are expected to appear in flashback scenes, but how many of those are going to be in the movie are yet to be known.

It: Chapter Two is scheduled to begin production in July in Toronto and Hamilton, with a September 6, 2019 release date. Andy Muschietti will direct once more, with Gary Dauberman handling the screenwriting duties again.
